Utorrent what does the seed and peer things mean?

Now on the movie that i'm downloading there 103 seeds but only 1 is showing on the left of the () signs and theres tons of peers 2920 and only 66 are showing, what does the 103 seeds mean? i mean is that how many people have the file totally downloaded, then why isn't more people on seeding? see my upload can go up to 250KB but the D/L can be as LOW as 2.6KB and sometimes gets as high as 150KB i want it to STAY at 150 or more and how is that possible? do more people have to be seeding to have that happen? and if my upload finished the hole download should i keep it going? can that finish it? or do i have to have the same amount of D/L for it to finalize? i'm so confused and i have alot of questions because the stupid FAQ thing doesnt answer my questions please help i'm new at it, please no rude comments
