2003 buick rendez vous versitak awd (awd light )?

hi i was stuck today in a pile of snow when i tried to get out my (awd light disabled) came on, it stayed on intill i parked the car and turned the car off. when i left work the light was off but the steering felt a little loose i think . anyways if anyone has a idea what im talking about please help
