Is it smart to talk to teammates in paintball?

I know that most people would say yes, definitely talk to teammates during matches, but i'm not so sure. The other day i was playing in a trench level and me and another teammate were both hiding behind a dirt mound. We weren't sure where our opponents were, but we were positive that nobody knew that we were positioned behind the mound. I thought of yelling out to another teammate to find out where the opponents were, but in the end we decided to go at it sneaky and quickly ran and slid behind another mound and still nobody knew where we were. We ended up winning the match and us 2 took out most of the other team. So is it such a good idea to communicate openly?
