Weird situation with an awesome girl...?

I am pretty close to a girl in my senior cl. We text every day and both like each other. Two months ago, my friend told her that he liked her which incited a huge amount of drama that I won't explain here. She told him that she likes him too, even though she doesn't, because she is very non-confrontational. Recently, she told me that she regrets telling him that, and she told him today that she doesn't like him. Is it too soon to move forward into a real relationship with her? We are all very prominent students at our school, and there is a lot of drama already, and I don't want to contribute to more. What should I do?
